Owner-trainer Landy maintains impressive figures with Ardea

When it comes to statistics few can match the record of owner-trainer Justin Landy, who in the past couple of seasons has had 18 winners from 24 runners.

True that figure includes wins in point-to-points, but it is still a remarkable record, and Ardea gave him winner 18 when landing the hunter chase under Joe Wright, who was having his first ride under rules since breaking a hand five week ago.

Landy, who is a farrier for Mark Johnston, said: "I'm pleased to get another racecourse win. This horse has come up against a couple of decent ones this season. My other horse Knocklong runs in the open race at my local Bedale point-to-point next Saturday and there will be pressure on then."
