Even those closest to I'dliketheoption admit he has been far from a natural over fences, but he showed experience is a great teacher to claim the 2m novice handicap chase for Jonjo O'Neill and Barry Geraghty.

Subsequent Grade 1 winner Arzal took the corresponding race 12 months ago, and while the JP McManus-owned five-year-old will have to go some to match that achievement he has the physique to progress in his new discipline and is heading in the right direction following a sketchy start.

Successful three times over hurdles, I'dliketheoption was second on his chase debut before unseating four out when going well at the track this month.
