On My Command takes control to boost Harry Fry's hot form
Tuesday: Plumpton
Harry Fry enhanced his already impressive record at Plumpton after On My Command handed the trainer a final gift before Christmas with a ready success.
The five-year-old made easy work of her opponents in the mares' handicap hurdle to win by 14 lengths under Jonathan Burke, despite blundering through the last flight.
Winning on her stable debut at Market Rasen in October, On My Command continued her shining record for her new yard and justified her starting price of 6-5 for the 2m4½f contest.
"I'm delighted for her and it's a nice Christmas present for her owner, who was supposed to be here from Geneva," Burke said.
"She is very straightforward and uncomplicated, she just gets on with the job. I'm sure a step up to three miles won't be any inconvenience for her in time and the way she jumps she'll handle fences too."
Victory marked the 14th winner from 31 runners at the track over the last five years for Fry, who will enjoy a few days away from the racecourse before Boxing Day, when he will have runners at Kempton and Wincanton.
Kempton's Boxing Day meeting will also be an important fixture for Burke, who rides Grade 1 winner Not So Sleepy in the Christmas Hurdle three days after celebrating his 26th birthday.
Odds-on shot delivers
Exciting prospect Chanceux won the novice hurdle in dominant fashion as he claimed another success under Nick Scholfield.
Carrying 7lb more than his closest rivals, the 2-7 favourite cruised to a six-length success to make it two wins from three starts this season for trainer Alastair Ralph.
