There may have been only ten shades of grey instead of 50 in the 6f Grey Horse Handicap this year but Chris Wall was not complaining when landing a rare local win in the colour-specific feature with Syrian Pearl.

It was quite a turnaround in fortunes for the Ted Durcan-ridden winner who had finished last on her only previous appearance in the race in 2014.

The victory continued the resurgence of the Wall team after a quiet spell when the yard was under a cloud.
