No surprise as 16-1 Second Nature makes all

The wall of fame on the side of the grandstand was a reminder that the 6f juvenile maiden was won six years previously by subsequent Group 1 winner Dream Ahead and many expected Tafaakhor to join the illustrious roll of honour after his recent excellent second over course and distance.

The even-money favourite was supposed to give the form of Godolphin's Blue Point, who had followed up by no less than 11 lengths at Doncaster the previous evening, a further boost but could muster only fourth behind Second Nature.

The 16-1 winner was continuing the recent good run of James Tate and Martin Harley. The jockey said: "That wasn't a surprise as he ran well at Bath first time and has enjoyed the extra furlong here. He jumped so well that I let him bowl along and he certainly feels as if he'll get seven."
