Lawney Hill: trainer of wide-margin winner No More No

Lawney Hill celebrated her first winner in 221 days when No More No breezed home by 31 lengths in the 3m½f novices' handicap chase.

The Andy Weller-owned six-year-old made a winning chase debut under David Bass debut despite a sketchy jump over the last fence, providing his South Oxfordshire-based trainer with her first winner since the start of October.

Hill said: "My only worry was him hitting the front too soon and when he did hit the front with a circuit to go I thought, goodness me! That's why David pushed him so strongly over the last three, because you feel like you're treading water even if you're in the clear.

"David is a proper grafter. He came over last week and said No More No jumps really well. We did think about entering him at Warwick next week but today was the plan.

"Andy has been a really good owner for me for a very long time. He sponsored me in 2005 and he put his faith in me, so we wanted to win this for him."

Busy battles back

Always Busy pulled off a miraculous win for Christian Williams in the feature 3m½f handicap chase.

The seven-year-old was outpaced four fences from home but Jack Tudor drove him back into contention by the second-last before pushing past favourite High Game Royal to win by seven lengths.

The 9-2 shot was pulled up on his previous start at the course in March but on this occasion he brought home the day's biggest prize on offer at the Nottinghamshire track for owner George Moore.
