If the rest of Martyn Meade's juvenile team for 2020 is as good as his first runner, then the trainer could be in store for a very rewarding season.

The market spoke resoundingly in Method's favour ahead of his debut in the 6f novice, and it was well-founded support as the colt quickened away from the field for a smooth four-and-a-quarter length success under Ryan Moore.

Meade's son and assistant, Freddie, was on hand to watch the victory, and said: "He did everything nicely and Ryan said he did everything right. He put it to bed in a matter of strides and gave him a great feel. We thought this was a nice starting point and everything would suit."
