Nico de Boinville adds another Cheltenham Festival chance with Whatswrongwithyou

It was not quite the Lingfield walkover of 24 hours earlier, but Whatswrongwithyou was left an open goal in his novice chase that had bookmakers making him the one to beat in his Cheltenham Festival target.

The eight-year-old was evens favourite to beat three rivals in the Josh Gifford Memorial but his backers endured a 30p in the pound deduction when market rival Diakali refused to line-up and was withdrawn by the starter.

Fontwell has seen plenty of drama on its figure-of-eight chase course and Whatswrongwithyou nearly got rid of Nico de Boinville at the first before it became plain sailing, to have bookmakers confirming him favourite for the Grand Annual, run in memory of the winning trainer Nicky Henderson's father Johnny.
