Megan Nicholls was full of praise for the Silk Series for professional and amateur lady riders after making her first appearance a winning one on Honiara.

The Arena Racing Company's new venture has hit the headlines with Hayley Turner's early success and Nicholls, daughter of champion jumps trainer Paul, was also breaking new ground in riding her first winner at this tricky course.

"It's a really great series helping us to get opportunities," said Nicholls after winning a three-way thriller with Nicola Currie and top amateur Serena Brotherton.
