Near disaster turned to triumph for Lucent Dream who was sent off 7-4 favourite for the 1m2f handicap. Despite nearly being brought down early in the straight and losing several lengths he rallied gamely and went on to land the spoils.

"I was lucky," admitted rider Paul Hanagan.

"One horse was coming back on me and another came in so I was the meat in the sandwich and he nearly came down. He did well to win after that."
