Mustashry put up a fine weight-carrying performance in the Group 2 Godolphin Stud & Stable Staff Awards Challenge Stakes when defying a Group 1 penalty to deny Limato a third straight win in the 7f contest.

The six-year-old, who picked up a 5lb burden for his win in the Lockinge Stakes in May, was returning from a three-month absence but dominated from the front under Jim Crowley.

Given the sponsors, it was fitting that successful trainer Sir Michael Stoute paid tribute to a member of his staff for her part in the victory.
