Muscutt springs surprise on Ravenous in Colwick Cup

There is no better way to advertise yourself than being in the winner’s enclosure - those were the words of apprentice rider Daniel Muscutt following victory aboard Ravenous in the second running of the £35,000 Colwick Cup.

Muscutt, who is based in Newmarket with Marco Botti, steered the Luke Dace-trained five-year-old to an impressive length and three quarter triumph at 25-1 in the feature handicap over front runner Intense Tango and believes to now be one winner away from losing his claim.

The talented apprentice is hoping his biggest handicap win to date will impress trainers as he soon faces the tough nature of turning from an apprentice to professional.
