Pat Murphy has well and truly found the key to Koybig, who completed his third win on the bounce for the stable and was the first half of the trainer’s first career double, completed half an hour later by No Approval.

Koybig was in the doldrums prior to joining Murphy earlier this year – his losing sequence extended to 16 races and there were almost two years between drinks.

An awful long time, but owner Derek Leonard, a familiar face on the racecourse, saw potential in the son of Kodiac and purchased him out of the parade ring at Naas in June.
