Mullins plan pays off as Knight stands tall in dramatic Foxrock

After his jumping ruined a winning opportunity at Punchestown last month, it might have seemed foolhardy to expect the Tom Mullins-trained Oscar Knight to be one of the last ones standing in a race as competitive as the feature Foxrock Handicap Chase, but that's how it transpired.

His jumping was of a different order to either of his last two starts at Galway and Punchestown – perhaps the slower ground was a factor in that – and with casualties aplenty in the straight his jumping withstood the test as he had too many guns for novice Ball D'Arc in scoring by six and a half lengths. Only nine finished out of the 15 runners.

Mullins has his eye on the Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown if he gets into the race and said: "He's in it, and hopefully that will be enough to get him in if JP [McManus] and Frank [Berry] want to go there."
