Mullins magic - this time with Danny and David playing star roles

It would not have felt right if the Listowel festival had gone by without a John Ryan-trained winner, and when the chips were down good old Presenting Mahler came up trumps under Ryan's favourite rider Danny Mullins in the 2m1f handicap chase.

Mullins, widely considered one of the best from the front in the Irish weighroom, had his rivals in trouble from a long way out and came home unchallenged aboard the versatile mare on the closing afternoon of the seven-day meeting.

Ryan, clearly in playful mood after breaking his duck for the week, said: "Danny and myself were hardly talking all week as he got off Kylecrue and Kilcarry Bridge to ride for Willie [Mullins] – I could have strangled him!
