Mullins and Walsh dominate as classy Getabird boosts Arkle claims

Min's victory in the Grade 1 John Durkan Memorial Punchestown Chase was backed up by impressive support acts in Getabird and Tornado Flyer on a day when Willie Mullins sent out three winners at Punchestown and another three at Cork.

Getabird went off at 4-7 favourite for the 2m beginners' chase and duly won by seven and a half lengths. Twice a winner at Grade 2 level as a novice hurdler last season, Getabird was scoring at Punchestown for the third time, and following this latest success he was cut to a general 10-1 (from 20) for the Racing Post Arkle.

However, Getabird has never looked entirely happy going left-handed and it remains to be seen what plan Mullins maps out for him. Early indications are that Limerick and not Leopardstown might be the venue for his next start this month.
