Mullins and Townend leave Limerick rivals chasing shadows

Willie Mullins took the two feature races with Daisy’s Gift and Kate Appleby Shoes, both victories achieved with the minimum of fuss.

Kate Appleby Shoes was up first and relished the testing conditions as she powered home under Paul Townend to win the Grade 3 mares’ novice hurdle by five lengths.

Townend, who rode a double at Cheltenham on Friday said: “It was pretty straightforward for her. We didn’t think the step up in trip would be any problem.
