Hard-working jockey Andrew Mullen enjoyed a happy homecoming as he produced an exceptional ride to scoop the £100,000 Queen’s Cup aboard Brandon Castle.

Mullen, who hails from Tranent just a few miles from the course, showed commendable enterprise to land the spoils narrowly in the richest race run at his home track.

Watched by his dad and sister, Mullen boldly sent the 10-1 chance into a long lead and the pair were ten lengths clear before reaching the home straight in the 1m6f handicap.
