Muir excels in the saddle again as she delivers Camacho Chief to rule in feature

There was a poignant outcome to the feature 5f handicap after the Paula Muir-partnered Camacho Chief found what was required to take the spoils in the colours of owners Ian Davison and Alan Drysdale.

Davison explained: “My father Ronald Davison owned the horse until early last year when he unfortunately died and he left him and Dakota Gold to myself and my brother-in-law Alan – no doubt he will be looking down from above with a big smile on his face.

"Camacho Chief had not raced when he sadly passed away but he's now won twice this season and twice last year so we're a very lucky pair as Dakota Gold, who is also trained by Michael Dods, finished a close-up sixth in the Ayr Silver Cup at Ayr on Saturday.”
