RALPH BECKETT capped a fabulous week with his fillies when Mountain Bell returned from a break to beat the boys in the £40,000 Listed Betway Stand Cup.

The trainer claimed a Group 2 double with Simple Verse and Rich Legacy at Doncaster on Thursday and added a third notable success for Qatar Racing with a three-year-old last seen in action finishing third behind Seventh Heaven and Architecture in the Lingfield Oaks Trial.

With Mountain Bell's fillies' allowance, connections turned to lightweight jockey John Egan and the veteran struck on his first ride for the top owners after receiving some sound advice from their retained rider Oisin Murphy.
