Luke Morris has achieved just about everything on the winter all-weather circuit but ticked a very notable unfilled box when riding his first winner for Godolphin in the 1m2f novice stakes.

The mount on Charlie Appleby's unraced Nordic Lights was a late call up after his old championship rival Adam Kirby was deemed too ill to ride at the meeting.

An expensive breeze-up purchase, Nordic Lights took time to warm to his task to say the least when coming from last to first to catch his stablemate Night Story, with the heavily-punted De Medici back in third.
