Just like London buses, Sedgefield had waited a long time for a 100-1 winner but the course got its second one in the space of a week after Ivors Involvement's victory in the second division of the 2m1f conditional jockeys' handicap hurdle.

The eight-year-old had little in the form book to suggest that a success was incoming, but he scooted clear to win by eight and a half lengths under a clever ride by Stephen Mulqueen to secure a maiden success over hurdles.

"I don't care what price they are if they do it like that!" the winning jockey said. "He's travelled through it all the way, he's loved it and galloped right out to the line.
