Moore magic as rider repays Brotherton with overdue winner

October might only be a few days old but Jamie Moore threw his hat into the ring for ride of the month with a determined front-running effort on 11-1 shot Deise Vu in the 1m7½f handicap chase.

Setting a brisk early gallop from the off, the duo looked up against it when headed at the tenth but under Moore’s insistence, the Roy Brotherton-trained Deise Vu soon regained the upper hand.

He was again joined before the last when Saffron Prince loomed large but Moore spotted a humongous stride going down to the final fence and, to his credit, Deise Vu answered his rider’s call to sail back into a narrow lead which he maintained to the line.
