It was a race fit for the Cheltenham Festival and it lived up to its billing as Moon Racer edged out Ballyandy after a thrilling spectacle.

The two potentially top-notch hurdlers treated the enthusiastic crowd to an exciting tussle as they vied for a winner’s prize of just £2,477.

Moon Racer emerged the winner by three-quarters of a length after the heavyweights slugged it out over the final two flights of the 2m novice hurdle.
