Miss Cynthia landed the £25,000 mares' handicap hurdle after the dramatic exit of the 3-1 favourite Princess Keri after the final hurdle.

Princess Keri looked to have matters firmly in control with a six-length lead approaching the last, hitting 1.01 on the Betfair Exchange, but she got in tight and caused Ned Fox to be unseated a few strides after the hurdle in the 2m4f event.

The Dan Skelton-trained Miss Cynthia capitalised for a seven-length success and initiated a 308-1 treble on the card for the leading trainer and jockey Tristan Durrell, who won the 2m5f handicap chase with Little Wren and the bumper with Eastern Fire.

Shock win in feature

Belle Montrose caused a 40-1 upset when winning the feature Queen Boudicca Mares’ Handicap Chase Series Final for Sam Drinkwater.

The seven-year-old was 6lb out of the handicap in the £50,000 contest but stayed on well on her first attempt at 2m5f.

Kevin Brogan's mount beat Sainte Doctor by a length and a half to record her second course win.

Brogan told Racing TV: "On paper, you probably wouldn’t have given her that much of a chance but she has course form, which is a big positive. I’ve come here on a couple of short-priced favourites and they end up getting beaten as not every horse likes this track."
