Menzies repays the favour to landlord after Return Ticket's impressive victory

Rent payments for this month will have been made a little easier for Rebecca Menzies as she enjoyed a winner for her landlord John Wade with Return Ticket's convincing victory in the feature 1m7½f handicap hurdle.

Menzies moved into the County Durham facilities formerly used by dual-purpose trainer Wade upon his retirement in 2016, and the now-owner sent Return Ticket to his tenant's yard after purchasing him over the summer.

The seven-year-old was backed into favouritism shortly before going to post and justified that support with a six-and-a-half length success under the guidance of Sean Quinlan, who was replacing regular jockey Henry Brooke as he recovers from a broken neck.
