Kaloor could be another smart prospect for Brian Meehan and Lew Day after a most encouraging winning debut.

The 16-1 shot belied his odds to land division one of the mile novice event, scoring readily by three and a half lengths under Jim Crowley.

The owner has had Cambridgeshire winner Spark Plug and Group 3 scorer Raheen House – named after his County Tipperary hotel – at Manton with Meehan, who thinks plenty of his latest two-year-old.
