Archie Bellamy is bred to make a jockey and showed he is living up to that pedigree with an accomplished ride to land his third winner of the season on Kamool.

But the younger brother of jump jockey Tom Bellamy, and son of former rider Robert Bellamy, revealed advice from champion Richard Johnson helped him land the Conditional Jockeys' Hurdle for his boss Graeme McPherson.

Johnson had won on the six-year-old last month and Bellamy, 18, said: "He told me to keep him stoked up and when you hit four furlongs out just go for it. He didn't jump the last too well but it hasn't cost him.
