Australian ace Kerrin McEvoy, who became a household name in British racing during his spell with Godolphin in the 2000s, is back in the northern hemisphere for Royal Ascot and got his eye in when winning the 7f novice stakes at Doncaster on the Charlie Appleby-trained Sacred Dance.

A three-time winner of Australia's greatest race - the Melbourne Cup - McEvoy was recording his first success in Britain since Secretinthepark struck on Shergar Cup day at Ascot in August 2015.

The jockey, who won the 2004 St Leger on Rule Of Law, was understandably delighted to be back among the winners.
