James McDonald again showed British racegoers what they will be missing when he goes back to Australia at the end of the month by notching his first treble on these shores.

The New Zealander moved onto the 12-winner mark with the three winners, the most lucrative of which was his six-length romp on Franklin D in the £45,000 mile handicap.

Winning owner Bill Gredley is knocking down a local pub as part of his latest development plans and was smashing up the bookies again when the gambled-on 7-2 chance obliged in style.
