Wednesday: Perth

Dianne Sayer's red-hot run of form showed no signs of stopping with a treble on the card, headlined by Charlie Uberalles's game victory in the 3m handicap chase.

The six-year-old battled to a two-and-a-quarter-length success under Conor O'Farrell, while Sayer struck earlier on the card with Tico Times in the 2m handicap chase before Calliope completed her 48-1 haul in the 2m4f handicap hurdle.

"We've had a great day," the trainer said. "Our horses enjoy being turned out a lot and the weather's been kind. I'm aware as the season goes on it will only get stronger for others, so we're trying to make hay while the sun shines.

"It was fabulous to see Charlie Uberalles come back to Perth and get a bit of confidence after a disappointing run at Bangor. He's very inexperienced but is so genuine."

The three-timer took Sayer's strike-rate to 36 per cent over the last fortnight, with four wins from her last 11 runners.

However, Tico Times's success was extra-special for the trainer, as he is owned by her mother, Evelyn Slack.

Sayer added: "We've had Tico for a long time and we know where we're at with him. Mum still comes along and trains him three or four days a week!"

Elliott leaves happy

Gordon Elliott's fine Perth form continued when odds-on favourite Happy D'Ex won the opening 2m4f mares' novice hurdle, meaning his track record now stands at 18 winners from 47 runners this campaign.
