Love by far the best in 1,000 Guineas but little juice left in her Oaks price

Watch the Qipco 1,000 Guineas back and it is very hard to disagree with Ryan Moore's post-race assessment that "Love looks the best of the three-year-old fillies at the moment".

Yes Raffle Prize missed the start, while Millisle and Quadrilateral raced too keenly – the latter by far the worst offender in that department – but the truth is they were all comprehensively beaten to love by the winner.

She travelled widest, moved to the fore in the hottest part of the race and then, when her rivals began to wilt, surged further and further clear. This was not necessarily the performance of a dominant miler, rather the performance of a filly who was simply too good for her rivals.
