It was not quite the weather for Great British Summer Day on the July course but the sun was certainly shining for George Wood, who scored on his first ride in a Listed race in the featured Listed Aphrodite Stakes.

He may have lost Postponed but winning trainer Luca Cumani still has his half-sister God Given, who showed plenty of her family's ability.

It was also a first ride for the stable for Wood, who was unable to claim his 3lb allowance but still had the guns to see off senior jockeys such as John Egan on runner-up Isabel De Urbina.
