The Listed Navigation Stakes at Cork proved to be lift-off for the Willie McCreery-trained Up Helly Aa, who marked himself a Group horse in the making under Billy Lee.

The three-year-old's intended run in a Group 2 at Deauville in August stalled at Shannon airport after a plane carrying US military personnel caught fire causing flights to be cancelled.

However, the Niarchos Family's colt made up for lost time by flying home to land the Tuesday feature as 11-4 favourite. The son of Galileo has particular significance for McCreery as the first foal out of the stable's Group 1 winner Fiesolana.
