Top point-to-point trainer Sam Curling is no stranger to good horses passing through his hands, with 2018 Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner Summerville Boy and prolific winner Seeyouatmidnight being among the best in recent years.

He looks to have another reasonable horse in his care in Laureldean Cross, who impressively landed the four-year-old bumper for rider Pa King.

Sent off a 33-1 shot after a nondescript debut at Bellewstown the previous week, this was certainly much more like it as Laureldean went to the front early in the straight and never looked back, prevailing by a length from the strong-staying Vartry Avenue.
