It is a near 500-mile round trip from Ledbury in Herefordshire to Tyneside but the journey proved worthwhile for trainer Tom Lacey, who had two runners and won with both of them.

The most exciting of the pair is Kimberlite Candy, who continued his unbeaten run with an easy success in the 2m6f novice hurdle.
