King takes aim on Altior with slick Shloer winner Sceau Royal

Alan King admitted the prospect of taking on Altior in the Betfair Tingle Creek scares the life out of him, but that is the likely next destination for his Shloer Chase winner Sceau Royal, who was well-supported to a best price 5-1 for the Sandown showpiece.

Back from a "very slight tweak" to a suspensory ligament, Sceau Royal had not been sighted since winning the Lightning Novices' Chase at Doncaster in January, but jumped with his usual economic accuracy to see off valiant 11-year-old Simply Ned.

He duly extended the winning distance to two and a quarter lengths under Daryl Jacob, meaning he will not take up a precautionary engagement in the Fighting Fifth at Newcastle on December 1.
