King sidelined and Power doubt for Galway Hurdle

Connor King, who was taken to hospital in Galway on Tuesday night after a heavy fall in a 7f maiden, has a suspected fracture of his T8 vertebrae and faces a spell on the sidelines.

Turf Club medical officer Dr Adrian McGoldrick said yesterday: "I'm awaiting confirmation from the doctors at the hospital but it appears Connor has a stable fracture of his T8 vertebrae. If that's the case he's likely to be out of action for six to eight weeks."

King, champion apprentice in Ireland in 2013 and 2015, was riding 66-1 shot Sea Captain, who stumbled and fell.
