Kieran O'Neill topped a stellar first year for John Gosden when steering home Kessaar in the 188Bet Casino Sirena Stakes to give the Newmarket trainer a Group 3 double on the card following the earlier success of Enable.

The 9-1 chance was only fourth in the betting in the five-runner contest beforehand after a modest effort last time, but defied the market vibes when holding off 3-1 chance Junius Brutus.

Hot favourite for the 6f contest was the prolific Quiet Endeavour but after leading early the run of the 11-10 hope petered out, as did the challenge of the second favourite Konchek.
