You would have received weird looks had you suggested earlier in the year that Judgement Day would rattle off four wins on the bounce, but the son of Martaline can now be considered the poster boy for horses transformed by fences and he continued his progression under Rachael Blackmore.

Despite giving weight all round in the 2m4f rated novice chase, it proved his finest hour to date as he ran home a two-and-a-half length victor over Kildorrery, leaving trainer Henry De Bromhead thinking about Leopardstown targets over Christmas.

He said: "It's good going to win four in a row over fences, which started at Kilbeggan. He's gone from 3m back to 2m4f, and he's proving himself a really tough horse. He couldn't win over hurdles at all but he really seems to have improved for fences."
