Mark Johnston showed the wellbeing of his two-year-olds ahead of his bid for the Princess Margaret Juddmonte Stakes at Ascot with a juvenile double.

Jacquard (4-9) was conceding weight in the novice event as was Teofonic (6-4) in the nursery, but both proved up to the task for a yard that has Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes fourth Kilmah and dual novice winner Miss Infinity entered in Saturday's Group 3 contest.

"At the moment it looks like Kilmah will be our runner on Saturday," said Johnston's son and assistant Charlie. "She ran well at Newmarket, though she finished fourth she was only beaten three-quarters of a length.
