Ruth Jefferson is excited about the bright future awaiting Buster Valentine who maintained his unbeaten record when a convincing winner of the two-mile maiden hurdle.

The five-year-old, who was sold for £100,000 after his Irish point-to-point success, looked firmly in control throughout the contest as he stayed on for a convincing three and three quarter length success.

Jefferson said: "I have always liked him at home. We didn't want to give him too hard a race today but I was pleased with how he did it. He will come on for the experience and I don't think two miles is his best trip, we will probably be stepping him up next time.
