James Ewart looking to the future with unbeaten Ettila De Sivola

James Ewart is inclined to play the long game with Ettila De Sivola after the strapping four-year-old extended his unbeaten record to two in the 2m1f maiden hurdle.

Winner of a Doncaster bumper 12 months ago, the son of Noroit showed a great deal of promise to beat 4-6 favourite Eclat De Star by 11 lengths.

"He's a nice horse who we've been very patient with," said Ewart. "I don't want to do too much with him this season, we'll have a couple more runs to educate him. My aim is to have a hard season as a novice chaser as I feel that's where we want to be picking the fruits."
