It is such a pity the entries have closed for next Sunday’s Grand National Trial at Punchestown and the Commonwealth Cup is confined to three-year-olds as who knows what Apple’s Jade can do after she took her versatility to a whole new level at Leopardstown.

Faugheen posted his highest ever Racing Post Rating of 177 when bagging the BHP Insurance Irish Champion Hurdle by 15 lengths in 2016. Apple’s Jade won it by a length further.
