Given all that has gone on in the world with the relentless changing lifestyles, there is something reassuring about seeing Romanised return year after year and performing at the top of his game.

The 2018 Irish 2,000 Guineas winner followed up last year's success in the Group 2 Paddy Power Minstrel Stakes in typically stylish fashion, his trademark turn of foot kicking in just past the final furlong pole as he proved too good for the odds-on Lancaster House.

The path remains the same. He will head back to Deauville next month to try and retain his Prix Jacques le Marois crown and, on the evidence of this success by a length and three-quarters, he will take some stopping.
