David Probert rode his first winners since returning from a stint in Hong Kong with a double on the seven-race card.
Probert, whose previous success in Britain came in August, was back on the domestic scoresheet with the ten-length success of the Jack Channon-trained Crest Of Fire in the mile maiden.
The rider sealed a double aboard the Dylan Cunha-trained Riley Rocks by half a length in the 6f handicap.
Probert said: “It’s been a while so it’s great to be back riding winners. I wouldn’t change going to Hong Kong and it was a good experience but it’s nice to be back in the swing of things.
“It’s good to get the ball rolling again and hopefully I can get some momentum behind me and it turns into a good year."
On his winners, Probert said: “Crest Of Fire was entitled to go and win the way he did. He’s an exciting horse, he’s been gelded over the winter and that seemed to do him a lot of good. Riley Rocks was a little green early on but he’s a progressive type and should improve a lot when he goes on the grass.”
Hat-trick hero
St Faz has a chase and a hurdle win to his name but took his all-weather record to 3-3 when landing a hat-trick on his third start for Adrian Keatley in the 1m6f handicap.
Double up
Callum Rodriguez gained a double from his two rides on 5f handicap winner Life After Love for Ollie Sangster and mile classified scorer Spirit Of Bowland for Tony Culhane and Stella Barclay.
