'It's even better when you lose your claim' - Kaiya Fraser edges closer to a century of winners courtesy of One Of Our Own

One Of Our Own edged Kaiya Fraser closer to his 100th winner after prevailing by a neck in the 6f handicap.
The Rebecca Menzies-trained five-year-old was given a well-judged ride by Fraser to register her first win of the season. Never too far away from the leaders, she made headway on the far side inside the final furlong and held on gamely at the line.
Fraser told Racing TV: "I had to be patient today to get the gap, but once it opened she picked up well and put her head down. I kept it simple, but she's an honest filly who tries.
"This year she hasn't been running too bad. She got a bit unlucky at Redcar, she's run well and been placed a few times. It's nice to get her head in front today."
Fraser, who has now ridden 98 winners, added: "It's even better when you lose your claim, it makes these wins a bit more special and you can tell yourself that you can do it. I'm very happy."
Unplugged shows spark
The Mick and David Easterby-trained Unplugged relished his return to Pontefract, ending a a two-year winless spell since victory in this 1m2f amateur jockeys’ handicap in 2023.
Jockey Serena Brotherton, who co-owns the nine-year-old, steered him to a comfortable win and has now won this race four times in the last six seasons.
