Phil Kirby said the controversy around Bushypark's big-gamble victory at Hexham three weeks ago "spoils the job", after the six-year-old hurdler continued his rapid improvement by landing a hat-trick.

Bushypark, who also scored at Haydock last week, routed the field by 12 lengths under Thomas Dowson in the 2m4f handicap hurdle, three weeks after winning the first leg of his hat-trick when backed into 7-4 favourite from 16-1.

The Horseracing Bettors Forum had encouraged the BHA to investigate the matter and Kirby said: "It wasn't a big gamble as far as I was concerned, I can't stop people betting on him.
