It's 14 years since the Group 2 Rockfel Stakes threw up the winner of the following year's 1,000 Guineas but Clive Cox could well have a live contender on his hands for the 2021 renewal in the shape of Isabella Giles.

The 11-5 chance was well served by the 21mm of rain that had fallen in Suffolk prior to racing and made most in her uncomplicated way under Adam Kirby to see off live outsider Nazuna with evens favourite Monday nowhere.

The daughter of Belardo was backing up her win in the Group 3 Prestige Stakes at Goodwood and was cut to 25-1 (from 50) by most firms for Classic glory after making it four wins from just five starts.
