Emmet Mullins was able to put the disappointment of Sneaky Getaway's poor run in the novice hurdle here on Sunday behind him as hurdling newcomer Cape Gentleman ran out a taking winner of the 2m4f maiden hurdle under Brian Hayes.

The son of Champs Elysees won the Irish Cesarewitch two months ago on just his second run for the stable, and the manner of his performance here confirms that Mullins has a nice prospect on his hands.

He travelled beautifully through the race for Hayes, jumping well bar perhaps one mistake, and cruised through from the final flight to beat market rival Petibonome by two lengths.
